Project Manager 

Reports to:  Manager of Construction

Type:  Full-time

Location:  Warwick Township, ON

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Our company is a diverse construction company with multiple divisions under its umbrella including ones for Drainage and Bulldozing, Sand and Gravel, and Excavating.

We are seeking a project management professional who is well organized and has the business acumen to ensure projects are running smoothly and within cost parameters.  We are looking for a team player with solid communication skills (both verbal and written), a driven individual with a passion for the contractor environment! Responsibilities:

  • Prepare construction estimates based on quotations, drawings, and specifications to win new and existing business.
  • Create timelines and track construction project schedules to ensure teams are being utilized most effectively.
  • Visit worksites to build relationships with key staff, monitor progress and maintain communication with the Foreman running the site.
  • Assist in preparation of pre-construction and construction services proposals to maximize efficiencies and profit.
  • Examine and analyze tenders and make recommendations to increase likelihood of winning them.
  • Follow the company cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to build strong relationships.
  • Research and analyze cost data for review and presentation.
  • Adhere to all company H&S policies and procedures while following OHSA and construction regulations demonstrating that safety is a top priority.

 

Requirements:

  • Civil Engineering or Construction Management diploma is an asset
  • Experience in estimating within the civil construction industry or related field
  • Computer skills and software experience, including Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Experience with Bid2Win, Heavy Bid, Acumatica, or Maestro is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of MTO book 7 Traffic Control Requirements.
  • Experience with hazard assessments and controls in the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A good health and safety record.
