Position Title:
Part-Time Direct Support Professional (Contract) - Adult Supported Group Living Services
Nature of Position:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professionals to join our team on a part-time, contractual basis. The successful candidate will be tasked with providing a variety of personalized supports for an individual who currently resides in our Adult Supported Group Living Services. This role requires a commitment to work a minimum hour base of 48 hours per pay period (bi-weekly), ensuring their personal, physical, intellectual, medical, emotional, spiritual, and community inclusion needs are met effectively.
Hours and Availability:
This part-time position entails 48 hours scheduled bi-weekly, covering weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Additionally, availability for pick-up of additional support hours when required is expected.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement a client-centered approach, fostering collaborative decision-making and skill development.
- Support personal hygiene with respect and dignity.
- Administer medication within policy guidelines, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Facilitate program activities, networking within the community for inclusion opportunities.
- Participate in meal planning, cooking nutritious meals, and managing personal finances.
- Maintain communication with stakeholders, sharing information effectively.
- Foster a professional rapport with client, colleagues, and external parties.
- Ensure safety and wellness of client and colleagues, complying with legislation and internal policies.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and adherence to organizational values and mission.

Required Skills, Education, and Knowledge:
- General educational background equivalent to Grade XII high school education.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in social services, preferably with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Police clearance with vulnerable sector screening.
- A valid G driver's license and insurable by the agency’s insurance company.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to respond to individual needs and crisis situations in a calm, productive manner.
- Well-developed organizational and communication skills are essential.
- Experience working with and following Behaviour Support Plans (BSP’s)
- Must be available to work, days, evenings, weekends, holidays and must be committed to be available for call in shifts.
