Requirements:
- Related experience working as a Health and Safety Coordinator within a Construction setting
- Some experience in commercial or institutional construction is a bonus.
Responsibilities Include:
- Yearly review, evaluation, and updated training of policy
- Research industry regulations and changes to in order keep the company compliant.
- Arrange for all in-house and outsourced training programs.
- Maintain training records.
- Weekly inspections of active sites
- Hazard assessments
- Presence when high risk activities are happening
- Site setup; signage, procedures, etc.
- Obtaining and maintaining Form 1000 s for individual projects and record listings
- Obtaining and maintaining Health and Safety Policies from each trade
- Obtaining and maintaining ‘Orientation’ sheets from subtrades on sites
- Monthly H&S Steering Committee meetings with management
- Monthly Employee Meetings and training sessions
- Attendance at Project Site Meetings (where applicable)
- Jobsite Orientations with major trades
- Shop Inspections
- Follow-ups on Jobsite Inspections Sheets
- Set and monitor yearly program targets; compile and maintain statistics
- Ie; attendance, minor accidents, incidents, compliance with JSIs,
- Site Specific policies for clients that require them
- Work Permit applications (road work and sidewalk closures)
- Research upcoming safety blitzes and ensure site personnel are equipped with the knowledge to handle these inspections
- Maintain MSDS information
- Advise on and inspect Infection Control measures on certain job sites (additional training can be provided)
