We focus on safety all day every day for our employees and our community. The Roll-off Truck Driver ensures safe operation of a truck, while driving, loading/unloading. The driver drives to customer locations for pickup, exchange the bin hoists bin onto trucks, and returns to main site for unloading.
Main Accountabilities:
- Ensure safe operation of a truck, while driving and loading.
- Drive to customer location for pickup, and position truck safely to ensure an easy lift.
- Hoist bin onto truck and empty contents using hydraulic lift.
- Replace bin (may need to unlock/relock gate or bin) and lift next bin.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through reliable service (e.g., arrive on schedule, pick-ups all bins, clean up waste that falls out of bin when lifting, relock/reclose bins)
- Resolve blocked access, if possible.
- Complete special pickups, as requested by dispatcher.
- Unload contents, using safe procedures; manually clean out debris
- Review run sheet listing calls and identify any potential issues.
- Sequence runs to optimize time (periodically), using a map.
- Schedule time sensitive calls.
- Provide run sheets to dispatch to sequence run in TRUX.
- At beginning of shift, complete a circle check of truck, review safety issues, tires, lights, fuel, check oil and coolant levels, etc.
- At the end of shift, fuel truck and complete post shift check of trucks (e.g. turn air tanks and main battery off).
- Document any concerns to be checked by mechanics and complete VCR.
Physical duties:
- Need to be outside to perform exchange of bins maneuvers (exposed to heat/cold, rain) briefly but frequently throughout the day)
- Needs to climb in and out of the truck at each customer site
- Requires to bee physically mobile and open to physical work: may be required to shovel for a few minutes, occasionally longer to clean up the sites when needed (customers are in the field of human nutrition so sites must be clean)
Requirements:
- AZ License is required and must be maintained
- Experience in roll-off truck driving
- Proven record of safe driving performance
- Excellent spatial skills to position vehicles and bins effectively and drive accident free
- Effective communication skills to convey information to the dispatcher and customers
- Knowledge of the area and traffic patterns in order to schedule a run or take a detour is a strong asset
Benefits:
- Hourly rate: $28.20+ bonus program: up to 5% of earned salary (paid annually).

- DAY SHIFT: Friday to Sunday 3:00 am to 3:00 pm
- NIGHT SHIFT: Tuesday to Friday 5:00 pm to 3:00 am
