Position: Medical Radiation Technologist – Magnetic Resonance Imaging - Casual Position

Under the direction of the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, the MRI Technologist takes responsibility for performing all MRI procedures.  The successful candidate will ensure proper screening procedure for the patient and anyone else entering the magnet room.  They will perform Quality Assurance procedures as set by department standards and take responsibility to ensure adequate level of products and supplies to support daily operations.  Other duties performed include archiving/retrieving patient data to and from PACS, injecting contrast agent as directed by the MRI radiologist, instruct students during clinical rotation when required and participate in evaluating student’s progress, and perform other duties as required.

This position is located in Belleville Ontario with occasional  travel required to our Picton and Trenton Ontario locations.
The successful applicant must have the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiology Technologist Program.
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario and CAMRT.
  • Completion of a post diploma program in MRI.
  • Initiative, organizational skills and decision-making abilities are essential.
  • Must have strong computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to work in this team-based environment.
  • Must be available to work all shifts including weekends, stat holidays and on-call.
  • Be willing to work at all QHC sites.
  • Completion of an IV injection course, Basic Cardiac Life Support course is desirable
