Purpose

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the incumbent is responsible to achieve planned budget, focused on tooling and capital & non-capital purchasing, secure the timely and economical delivery of tooling, capital & non-capital equipment & service. The Capital Buyer will be in charge to set up and develop the global supplier base.

 

Responsibilities

  • Plan and carry out all purchasing activities in the context of Capitals &Tooling to meet the requirements of two plants in terms of price, quality and delivery reliability.
  • Select the suppliers in the context of conducting sourcing projects, and the continuous support of the selected supplier base incl. reducing the costs, ensuring the supply quality and delivery performance of the suppliers which are based worldwide.
  • Execute of procurement market analysis for related industries or technologies.
  • Identify and buildup of new suppliers as well as optimization of existing supplier base in terms of cost reduction and performance improvement.
  • Request for quotation and cost comparison/analysis.
  • Negotiation and contract management.
  • Develop and execution of supplier strategies, incl. risk management.
  • Support in quality related topics such as technical discussions, parts release etc.
  • Close work and communication with the line of business department internal.

 

Skills/Experience/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Business administration or related field Highly Desirable
  • 2+ years’ experience in plant program purchasing with a professional designation Highly Desirable
  • Familiar with the OH&S Act & Regulations
  • Good team problem solving & time management skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Computer knowledge is essential.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, meet deadlines, effectively handle pressure, and maintain good relations with suppliers
  • Able to use the tools of project management.
  • An understanding of basic accounting, general business techniques, databases & contract law.
