POSITION:                   Stormwater Inspection Technician

 

DEPARTMENT:            Stormwater

 

Purpose of Classification: 

The purpose of this classification is to inspect and report on the condition of stormwater infrastructure throughout the County, to review and correct inaccuracies of existing mapped stormwater infrastructure, and to coordinate contracted crews performing inspections.   

Essential Functions:  

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. 

Performs inspections and reports conditions of stormwater infrastructure based upon inspection results. 

Coordinates crews performing inspections: assigns and monitors inspections; and reviews deliverables and invoices.  

Verifies accuracy of existing mapped infrastructure: makes corrections and updates data as needed. 

Performs related activities: obtains easements; and creates work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for needed inspection or maintenance activities. 

Assists with responding to and resolving stormwater complaints.    

Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures: receives and reviews various documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records. 

Operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions. 

Communicates with supervisor, other CCWA employees, contractors, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems. 

Additional Functions: 

This position may require on call assignments. 

Performs other related duties as required. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

High school diploma or GED required; supplemented by two years of experience in water, sewer, or stormwater construction, maintenance, or inspection; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. This is considered a Safety Sensitive position. 

Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license. Must obtain the following certifications:  Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP) within 12 months of hire. 

Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all CCWA or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

PAYGRADE:               15H (starts at $21.61/hour)
