We are your Maritimes' John Deere dealership with 15 locations to serve you.

We are looking for a skilled, dedicated person to fill the position of John Deere Small Engine & Diesel Mechanic at our Halifax, NS location.


Purpose:

Independently performs complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned golf /turf /construction equipment . This position will be in the shop and on the road.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on equipment in the shop

  • Work primarily in the shop and heading out on service calls as required

  • Willing to be on call during snow events

  • Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
  • Support customer clinics
  • Maintain current knowledge of competitive products
  • Maintain condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
  • Maintain a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  • Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
  • Work occasional Saturday shifts

 

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

  • 2+ years of experience performing service repairs
  • Small Engine Certificate with some heavy equipment experience preferred
  • Ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of turf equipment
  • Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
  • Ability to use Service Advisor
  • Must have computer skills
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
  • Valid driver's license required
