POSITION: Human Resources Assistant

SALARY: $24.891 - $31.113
NOTE - This is an on-site position. Candidates must be willing to come on site daily.
POSITION DECRIPTION:
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the HR Assistant will play a key role in supporting the overall department. This role will provide efficient and effective support to areas including but not limited to:
- Key lead regarding virtual onboarding and corporate orientation processes; Ensuring online onboarding packages and contents are issued and completed within prescribed timelines.
- Data entry for HR systems, payroll including new hire and transfer paperwork, seniority conversion lists and other payroll related data entry.
- Provide the highest level of customer service to all visitors, staff and others who attend HR.
- Assists recruitment and selection by scheduling interviews, preparing interview packages, contacting applicants, reference checking, etc.
- Track employee certifications and qualifications.
- Maintains and analyzes statistical data as required for the support of Human Resources.
- Provides administrative support to HR Team as required including providing back up coverage for reception services.
- Assists various HR projects and the HR Team as required.
HOURS:
The successful candidate will work Monday – Friday (37.5 hours weekly) with a willingness to adjust their schedule to meet the needs of the organization.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Post-secondary certificate/diploma in Human Resources, Payroll, Business or a related program from an accredited college.
- Previous related work experience in Human Resources and/or Payroll with preference to those with relevant administrative and healthcare experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in Applicant Tracking Systems (Talent Pool Builder preferred) preferred
- Advanced knowledge with HRIS Systems, Microsoft Office Software Programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook.
- Experience and knowledge in all areas of HR practices with particular strengths in recruitment, onboarding, orientation and data management is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation including the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights, AODA, and Collective Bargaining process.
- Ability to demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, tact and an exceptional level of professionalism.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with ability to positively influence others and develop trusting relationships.
- Advanced ability to establish rapport quickly and collaborate effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and results-orientated.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety.

Successful candidates must provide evidence of a fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status prior to your first day of work.
