The Position 

The Truck Driver is responsible for pickups and deliveries within the city and surrounding area. Ensure timely deliveries and obtain proper signature for deliveries.

 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Flexibility to work from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am and overtime as required
  • Ensure that all deliveries are picked up or dropped off as per work order/requisitions
  • Make local deliveries within the GTA and be familiar with geographical area
  • Plan daily route deliveries independently
  • Pick up ingredients from local vendors
  • Deliver samples as required to customers
  • Prepare and submit detailed delivery log / inspection report
  • Maintain the safety of the vehicle through inspections before and after use
  • Follow and practice all GMP’s, HACCP and SQF protocols
  • Work in accordance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

Education, Experience & Competency Requirements:

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • A valid DZ license with a clean abstract and CVOR
  • Valid counterbalance and walkie certification
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as delivery driver
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work effectively independently
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient ability to speak, read, write and take direction in English
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously in order to meet delivery deadlines
  • Able to work in a fast-paced work environment and have good attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing 20 to 50 lbs
  • Must be flexible with hours of work
